WOULD YOU LIKE ONE THOUSAND CAKES?

To celebrate National Cake Giveaway Day, we are giving away one thousand delicious cakes for FREE!

Simply come to the back door at 9 The Green at 7 p.m. and claim your goodies.

See you there, cake fans!

Now, before you tell everyone you know to give you a cake right NOW because it is National Cake Giveaway Day, then I am sorry to tell you that I just made it up. It is not an actual day at all. That is how clever this plan is.

And it got even more clever because we would ONLY tell Celery about the cake giveaway! There was no way she would be able to resist the chance to get some more sweet treats for her hungry hogs, especially after her dad said he wouldn’t buy her any more.

So Operation Ketchup Cakes was ON!

First, Fred went and stuck the cake giveaway sign on the gate of the Snoots’ pig field while walking Jeffrey with Mr Tibble. And guess what he saw! Celery, dragging her wheelbarrow towards the sty – but all she had in it was a bag of frozen peas, a tin of mackerel and three potatoes. She must have been running out of food! Which meant she would definitely NOT be able to resist our giveaway.

The next thing we had to do was BAKE. I told my mum I was going to Fred’s, and Fred told his granddad he was at mine, when really we were both in Fred’s kitchen baking one thousand ketchup cakes while Mr Tibble was at choir practice.

But the problem with baking one thousand cakes while your friend’s granddad is at choir practice is this: you probably won’t have enough EGGS or TIME to actually bake them all. In the end we only had eighty-nine, but that would just have to do.
